The Buddha is merciful. His teachings encourage people to resolve their conflicts through introspection and meditation, and the Tribulations are no exception. Clearing the mind and coming to terms with emptiness is the only way forward.
- Haven't I done enough introspection to last a lifetime by now?
As a student of Fuwa, you should know the answer to that already. Impatience is counterproductive to immortality, and that is how the Fourth Tribulation seeks to end your spiritual advancement. You must reach an understanding of your own inner emptiness in order to overcome this obstacle.
- But how will that help? And what do you mean by "emptiness"?
