The second way is using Yin to kill Yang. This way is much gentler, but it's far slower. I don't know if Shaw Danon will be willing to wait it out.

I think so too. The monsters that live in Dark Drake Cave are all fire-born creatures. Their essence, Flaming Crystal Gems, can be used to restrain the horrid fumes.
