The Grasstemple Village Massacre was actually carried out by one of our own Skysong monks. Alas, the shame of it!
- What?!
Fifteen years ago, my elder Fusoir, the Fallen went to Jadeon time and again to ask for assistance. He thought that if the healing skills of Skysong and the battle-magic of Jadeon could be combined in a single pupil, they might unlock the secrets of life and death. However, the Jadeon Masters always tactfully declined his requests. Discouraged, Fusoir left Jadeon and was badly injured in an attack by an ally of Evil who tried to steal the Sinister Orb from him. Thinking that his lifelong wish would never be realized, he passed his skills on to a boy in Grasstemple Village. He planned to send this boy and another boy to Jadeon, so that his dream of a master who wielded the skills of both Skysong and Jadeon would finally be realized.
- But what does this have to do with the Grasstemple massacre?
Now that I think about it, it was all due to the Sinister Orb. Elder Fusoir the Fallen repressed this evil thing through Buddhist seals and never let it from his sight in order to prevent it from harming others. However, the evil in Sinister Orb was strong, and though Fusoir the Fallen had decades of training, it slowly warped his mind. Fusoir lost all of his powers when he was injured and was unable to contain the objects terrible power any longer. The evil inside the Sinister Orb took advantage of this and aimed all of its power at corrupting him.
- You mean the massacre was done by...?
Fusoir went so far as to think that perhaps the boy he hoped would fulfill his dream needed a catalyst to propel him to greatness. Jadeon would surely reach out to the survivors of a calamity suffered by a poor neighboring community. He was completely under the influence of the Sinister Orb's when he went to Grasstemple Village and, using the Orb's power, butchered more than two hundred villagers.
- Ahh!
The two boys left alive were Shaw Danon and Baye. Fusoir the Fallen imparted his Skysong skills to Shaw Danon, causing much trouble for the lad in his days to come. If you meet the two of them, please try to help them so that terrible deeds Fusoir reaped upon them can be repaid, if even just a little.
